Lights Square
The Jesuits established this lot in 1633. There, the Jesuit Company built several buildings, some of which are still preserved: the Missions Attorney's Office, the Rental House and the Caretaker's Residence. Later in 1767, the buildings hosted the old headquarters for the University of Buenos Aires - Medicine Academy and Department of Exact Sciences, as well as the Hall of Representatives and the National Congress. In 1822, the magazine "El Argos" named it " La Manzana de las Luces" for its "enlightened" teachings from the educational institutions that were based there. The complex contained curious underground galleries built during the XVIII century that joined the Cabildo building with the Catedral and the San Ignacio, San Francisco, Santo Domingo, San Juan, del Salvador churches, the old Irish Convent, the Capuchinas Monastery, Virreina House and the Recoleta Relief , to connect it with other buildings surrounding it. Whether the original purpose of those passageways was to defend the city, later they were used for contraband purposes. Today you can visit some of them. The Manzana de las Luces hosts cultural activities and is used as an artesian fair daily.

  La Boca - Caminito
On the Riachuelo riverside the Boca neighborhood extends to a place where Italian immigrants congregated. Their houses and metal and colorful complexes are home to cantinas and wineries that inspired plastic artists and poets as well as tango singers. The Caminito Museum , known for its typical housing complexes in the Boca neighborhood, is now a center dedicated to the permanent exhibition of works of national and foreign artists. With just 100 meters long, this passage became one of the most visited walks in Buenos Aires . On weekends, professionals dance and sing tango and there is an artisan fair.
In time, the walls became the object of traditional artists contributing their works, statues, frisos and badges. Thus, in 1959, Caminito became the first walkway museum in the world, without sidewalks or entrances.
